We need you!

To make Virago reach its full potential we need women from all over to contribute to building this community. How can you get involved? Attend our events (we are working on remote access where appropriate), volunteer, make a financial contribution if able, get in touch with your ideas and spread the word!

If you have time to spare, or skills to share, speak to us about volunteering with Virago. 

Our team are all volunteers and bring a broad wealth of knowledge and experience ; from a Chemistry Phd to washing up skills (same woman!) We need a bank of women to call on to be here to keep opening hours as reliable as possible, main skill required  here, making tea. But we would also love to hear from you if you fancy alphabetising the library, painting the kitchen, running a workshop, etc, etc…. even baking for an event! Your time and support is valuable to us.

Alongside volunteering and financial support we need your input, your ideas – what you would like to see Virago do, do you have a project you’d like to collaborate with us on? Is there a research project you can use our library for? Do you run a group and need a venue? Would you like like to see a remote access facility?

We will also be putting a call out soon for contributors to our IWD 2024 issue of SCREECH – are you a writer, an artist, have something to say? Do you have story to tell? A photograph to share? Look out for more details coming soon.
